I’m not a longtime TTRPG Dungeon Master by most people’s standards.
I’ve always been interested in Dungeons & Dragons, but growing up at the tail end of the "Satanic Panic," it wasn’t something I had ready access to. Instead, I poured myself into other outlets: I was an artist, a storyteller, a huge nerd with a deep love for video games, cosplay, books, comics, movies, and anime—of every genre you can imagine.
What cracked the door open was watching the early live games of Critical Role. Many Thursday nights were spent glued to YouTube, swept up in the adventures of Vox Machina, and later, the Mighty Nein. But it wasn’t until the world shut down in 2020 that I finally dove into the hobby myself.
With nothing but the Player’s Handbook and Dungeon Master’s Guide, I threw myself into learning the game. I gathered my family and a couple of friends and started running D&D—learning as we went. Over time, that original party shifted, giving me the chance to invite two of my oldest friends: RayKnee, from high school, and her husband, Brandon Greathammer. Neither had played before, but together, we discovered something powerful.
We fell in love with the game.
The teamwork.
The storytelling.
The problem-solving.
The therapy in disguise.
We took what we knew, what we learned, and what D&D taught us—and built something of our own.
That’s how Shadow, Shield & Sorcery Games was born.
We made it official on May 19, 2025, forming our LLC and vowing to share the stories we’ve built with the world—on our terms.
This isn’t your Grandad’s D&D.
We don’t play in traditional settings, and we don’t use the same old bestiary. We take the rules you know and drop you into lands that are strange and wonderful—but not quite alien. Being true ‘90s kids, our worlds are steeped in The Witches and Willow, Heavy Metal Magazine, Final Fantasy, Vampire Hunter D, and Stephen King.
We blend the magical and the mechanical.
Fantasy with the future.
The fantastic and the frightening.
We build the worlds.
You make the legends.
To forge unforgettable stories through co-operative tabletop storytelling, empower creators of all kinds, and invite everyone to our table—whether you're here to laugh, cry, fight monsters, or flirt with them.
Whether you’re brand new or a veteran dice goblin, we’ve got something for you.
Comic Relief, Clawed Consultants, Quest Givers, Kaiju Kitties. These two make every Live game interesting. Vegeta is also head of HR.
